Rejected on JSR 277 modularization ...

While scanning my gigantic mailbox after a 3 week vacation I spotted a mail from the JSR 277 Expert lead Stanley Man-Kit Ho (Sun Microsystems, Inc.). Ah! My acceptionation letter for JSR 277 I thought, unfortunately it was a dear John letter. This was kind of a shock because I consider myself one of the key experts in Java modularization. I have worked on this for 8 years and have been one of the key drivers behind the OSGi specifications.

The important part that I can provide is history. Over the past 8 years we have discussed and tested thousands of ideas in this subject area. Some of these ended up in the specifications and many were rejected because they did not turn out to be such a good idea after all. This historical perspective turned out to be very important during the development of Release 4.

Well, it turns out that the spec lead of a JSR has full power to select its expert group. I have mailed a number of Executive Committee members and tried to pull some strings but it does not look good. If your company has some influence in the JCP, or you feel compelled to mail Stanley Man-Kit Ho then any help would be appreciated.
